Chaos - The significance of Numbers
The concept behind ‘Chaos’ is to take the reader on a journey to explore the story of Chaos. Chaos theory is about understanding how mathematics and numbers explain the world around us and describe why the world can appear unpredictable and random, even when it is not.
The idea of having the reader assemble the publication is based on breaking down the way we read to represent chaos through the text.
By having the text on two layers the multi-dimensionality of chaos is represented, and that to understand chaos, we must consider different perspectives. The use of acetate represents how chaos is concealed
in plain sight and is only revealed through a certain perspective.
By separating the vowels onto the acetate, and having the remaining letters on the paper, the reader
can still understand the letters, but they are forced to look at letters that make up the words.
This publication was awarded membership to The International Society of Typographic Designers.
